Excellent Cassette Reel
Took delivery of my QRS 900 #9-12 salmon version today. Very pleased with the finish of the reel, the range of the drag, the capacity (600 grain Skagit Head with 35m of running line and 200m of 30lb backing ON THE SHALLOWER SPOOL!!! Greys look to have their capacities spot-on! The spool locking/release lever works a treat and I have every confidence that this reel will join the exalted ranks of other great Greys gear that I already own

Mmmmm not so good
I bought this reel as a replacement for my old GRX Greys reel. I thought the QRS looked good and it does but its a bit substance over matter. I have had a huge problem of the reel over running on numerous occasions which is rubbish. Quickly taking more line off for a longer cast and your are in a mess. Its just too sensitive one click the wrong way and you are stuffed. Its a shame I never had this problem with my previous reel(s)
Sorry Greys a waste of money

Poor capacity.
Bought the small reel and even if don't put backing, a 5 weight is too tight. Also the line guard is too sharp and as line right to edge, you can imagine what can happen to your expensive line.....all this marketing talk about unique design and yet Greys can't even design a reel with correct capacity and a sensible, smooth edge! Its not rocket science! All this for nearly 100 pounds.

poor design feature fault
purchased in oct 2018 fished upto june this year . The locking ring tab broke off had to use a needle to rotate the ring when changeing spools contacted pure fishing replaced witin 3 days with extra 4 spools very good after service but believe the locking ring tab should be metal not fibre a typical error of judgement in material used for the most used part of the reel not made in ENGLAND THE QUESTION I WOULD ASK IS WHO DESIGNED IT

Suspect design
Purchased a few months ago, as I liked the idea of the easily interchangeable spools. Unfortunately the spool locking mechanism does not function at all well. After a few casts the spool comes loose, leaving the spool rattling around. The shop I purchased it from attempted to tighten the mechanism, but with no success.

Poor fitting parts
I have the same problem the reel parts mate poorly and even when I tighten together as much as I can there is still a gap where the line guard catches the fly line, not recommended

Not so tough
Handle with extreme care. Maybe made from solid bar but still wont take being dropped. It landed on a mat and that was that. Buy a Reddington instead, they provide a lifetime warranty. Greys wont even answer an email.

Serious Design Flaw
Within the first half hour of Spey Casting with the QRS 9/10/11/12 the spool had worked loose within the reel cage. The small red sliding lever that locks the cassette spool in place had come open and the spool was rattling around. Fixed the problem and within half an hour it had done it again.
