Rated 5 out of 5 by Till from GR60 great price/performance ratio Dear fishing mates, at the IWF in southern Germany I had the pleasure to test the GR60 . To do that I brought my favourite #8 flyline as a reference for the weight. So I took 9 feet long rods in #7 and #8 to the grass and started with the #8. Maybe a well trained caster can load this rod with lots of line in the air, but it should be a fishing tool. So we rigged up the #7 and that was exactly what I was looking for: For my casting hand still very fast, and still very powerful with my line. The rod is also very light and I think the overall performance is very very close to the top class. Well done ! Tight lines, Till

Rated 5 out of 5 by NeilMcp from Excellent rod! I have just bought the 10ft #7 version of the GR60 series and one of the reasons I am leaving this review is that there seems to be very little information about what this rod is like to use. Trout and Salmon have published a review on the range as a whole and I would say that I agree with their comments. I am am simply going to summarise my experience of this specific model. My main rod for reservoir fishing is the GRXi+ 10ft #7, which I consider very highly, but as my birthday was approaching I had been wondering what advantages the latest resin and fibre technologies would bring and decided to buy the GR60. I should state am not a fan of fast action 'tippy' rods, and I am pleased to say this rod is not one of those, however it can cast over grass with a much faster action than the GRXi+, with progressive flexure of the top 3 sections, and increased line velocity. It shoots a WTF 7 very well. Accuracy is also very good. The GR60 rod is stiffer than the GRXi+with faster recovery but it is definitely not a poker. Out of curiosity I compared the weight of the top 3 sections of the GRXi against the GR60, the tapers look very similar but the weight of the GR60 is about 30% less. Cosmetics are very good and although the rod is actually manufactured in China, the design is Greys. Overall very pleased with the improvements and look forward to using the rod in the new season ahead. Well done Greys!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Daniel88 from GR60 9’ 5wt Nice and easy casting, light in hand and feels great, No problem there, but the finish on this rod is not good at all, sloppy, thick and running epoxi-coating on the thread wrappings on the guides, looks really bad, even for an low-cost rod.
